Today's Topic is about the Characteristics of God

    1 John 4:8, 16

8   He who does not love does not know God, for God is love.

16 And we have known and believed the love that God has for us.  God is love, and he who abides in love abides in God, and
    God in him.

So if the bible says that God is love, then what are His characteristics?  Let's go to First Corinthians the thirteenth chapter.  To
understand God, you have to understand the meaning of love, and since God is love, then we should be able to put His name in the
place of love to help us learn more about Him.

    1 Cor 13:1-8, 13

1   Though I speak with the tongues of men and of angels, but have not [God], I have become sounding brass or a clanging
cymbal.  2  And though I have the gift of prophecy, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and though I have all faith,
so that I could remove mountains, but have not [God], I am nothing.  3  And though I bestow all my goods to feed the poor, and
though I give my body to be burned, but have not [God], it profits me nothing.

4   [God] suffers long and is kind; [God] does not envy; [God] does not parade [himself], is not puffed up;  5  does not behave
rudely, does not seek [His] own, is not provoked, thinks no evil;  6  does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth.

8   [God] never fails.  But whether there are prophecies, they will fail; whether there are tongues, they will cease; whether
there is knowledge, it will vanish away.  13  And now abide faith, hope, [God], these three; but the greatest of these is [God].

This is a little insight into some of God's wonderful characteristics.
I hope you enjoyed reading the Word of God in a new light!  Have a happy Wednesday and Valentine's Day!
