    Psalm 146:1-10 NKJV

1  Praise the Lord! (Hallelujah!)  Praise the Lord, O my soul! [I will give You honor for all that you
have done, and all that You are yet to do!]

2  While I live I will praise the Lord; I will sing praises to my God while I have my being.  [As long
as You continue to fill my lungs with air, I will sing praises to Your name, O God.]
3  Do not put your trust in princes, Nor in a son of man, in whom there is no help. [I will not rely
solely on the aid of goverment officials, or other people to get me where You want me to go.  My help
    cometh from the Lord.]

4  His spirit departs, he returns to his earth; in that very day his (previous thoughts, purposes)
plans perish. [For I know that when man dies, his plans die with him.  But I serve a God who never dies!]

5  Happy (blessed, fortunate, enviable) is he who has the God of Jacob for his help, whose
hope is in the Lord his God, [Because I look to You for my help, and I hope in You, I am blessed.]

6  Who made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them; Who keeps truth forever, [I can
confidently hope in You, because I know that You made the heavens and the earth, the sea and all that is
above and below it.  I am assurred that You are a God who cannot lie, because You are the way, the
    truth, and the life.]

7  Who executes justice for the oppressed, Who gives food to the hungry.  The Lord gives
freedom to the prisoners. [You are my champion, my judge, my provider, my comforter, my guide, and
    my redeemer.]

8  The Lord opens the eyes of the blind; The Lord raises those who are bowed down; The
Lord loves the righteous. [You have opened my eyes when I was spiritually blind.  You raised my head
when I was bowed down with shame.  You offered love when everyone else was persecuting me for
    walking in righteousness.]

9  The Lord watches over the strangers;  He relieves the fatherless and widow; but the way of
the wicked He turns upside down (brings to ruin).  [Thank You for watching over me, even when I did
not know You.  You comforted and protected me when no one else would.  You steered me away from
the path of the wicked, which will one day be destroyed.]

10  The Lord shall reign forever-Your God, O Zion, to all generations.  Praise the Lord!
    (Hallelujah!)

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
