    Ps 34:8-22 NKJV

8    Oh, taste and see that the Lord is good; Blessed is the man who trusts in Him!  [I imagine how
much better it is to bite into a juicy, ripe orange than to hear someone else describe the experience to
    me.  It wasn't until I began my own personal relationship with You, that I realized how good You are to me;
and how blessed I am to have a God whom I can trust!]

9    Oh, fear the Lord, you His saints!  There is no want to those who fear Him.  10  The young
lions lack and suffer hunger; But those who seek the Lord shall not lack any good thing.  [I fear
You with an holy fear that causes me to reverence Your name.  As I commit to honoring You with my
whole life, You will provide my every desire, and I will not lack any fruitful thing.]

11  Come, you children, listen to me; I will teach you the fear of the Lord.  12  Who is the man
who desires life, and loves many days, that he may see good?  13  Keep your tongue from evil,
and your lips from speaking deceit.  14  Depart from evil and do good; Seek peace and pursue it.
[Thank You for Your word which provides me with instructions and guidance.  Your word teaches me how
to fear You, and how to live a long, and plentiful life.  I can do this by controlling the words of my mouth.  I
now understand that Your will is for me to do good and to seek and pursue peace.]

15  The eyes of the Lord are on the righteous, and His ears are open to their cry.  16  The face of
the Lord is against those who do evil, to cut off the remembrance of them from the earth.  17
The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.  18  The
Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves such as have a contrite spirit.  [No
matter what state I am in, You hear my cry, and You care about my circumstances.  You promise to
punish those who do evil against me, and to deliver me out of all my troubles.]

19  Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.  20  He
guards all his bones; not one of them is broken.  21  Evil shall slay the wicked, and those who
hate the righteous shall be condemned.  22  The Lord redeems the soul of His servants, and
none of those who trust in Him shall be condemned.  [The situation may look grim, but I know that
You promised me deliverance as long as I strive for righteousness.  Not one of my bones shall be
broken, nor shall I be condemned.  Thank You for Your salvation!  There is none other worthy to be
praised!  There is no God like You!]

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
