The Darkness Inside Aug. 31, 2005 |

Acts 9:1-4 NKJV 1 Then Saul, still breathing threats and murder against the disciples of the Lord, went to the high priest 2 and asked letters from him to the synagogues of Damascus, so that if he found any who were of the Way, whether men or women, he might bring them bound to Jerusalem. 3 As he journeyed he came near Damascus, and suddenly a light shone around him from heaven. 4 Then he fell to the ground, and heard a voice saying to him, "Saul, Saul, why are you persecuting Me?" When God's light met with Saul's darkness, Saul fell to the ground with conviction. He was forever changed by his encounter with the Lord Jesus Christ. He was so aware of his unrighteousness that his whole body had to bow to the Lord of all creation. Sometimes, God will stop us in the midst of our sins and shine a convicting light upon our lives. Because He loves us so much, God will not allow us to remain ignorant of how much it hurts Him when we sin. The darkness inside of us draws us farther away from our Master and Creator making it harder to do what is pleasing to Him. Like corrosion, it eats away at us until we are unrecognizable, even to ourselves. But, when we turn to the Light who is Jesus, His light illuminates our hearts and lifts our spirits chasing darkness out of every corner. Our whole being becomes saturated with reverence for our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. We bow to our knees and cry Holy, for He is the ONE, TRUE, LIVING GOD. We no longer are prisoners of the blinding darkness, but we have been set free by God's revealing light! 1 Peter 2:9 NKJV says, But you are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, a holy nation, His own special people, that you may proclaim the praises of Him who called you out of darkness into His marvelous light; We shouldn't allow the darkness inside to prevent us from being all that God has called us to be. That's why we must let Him in and then we will have the victory. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis.
