Ex 15:22-26 NKJV 22 So Moses brought Israel from the Red Sea; then they went out into the Wilderness of Shur. And they went three days in the wilderness and found no water. 23 Now when they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter. Therefore the name of it was called Marah. 24 And the people complained against Moses, saying, "What shall we drink?" 25 So he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree. When he cast it into the waters, the waters were made sweet. There He made a statute and an ordinance for them, and there He tested them, 26 and said, "If you diligently heed the voice of the Lord your God and do what is right in His sight, give ear to His commandments and keep all His statutes, I will put none of the diseases on you which I have brought on the Egyptians. For I am the Lord who heals you." This is another example of how God's ways are not our ways. Who would think that throwing a tree into some water would turn it from bitter to sweet? The Israelites had just experienced God's great deliverance from Pharaoh by crossing the Red Sea, and now (seemingly) God has led them into the wilderness to die of thirst! But I have come to learn that our God is a Keeper and a Provider! Situations may come into our lives that are bitter or undesired. But when those things happen all we have to do is follow Moses' example. Pray to the Lord and obey his commands concerning the situation and He promises your waters will be made sweet! Always Remember: Is 1:19 NKJV If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Now place the picture up to your face touching your nose (with the side the picture is on facing you), and try to decipher the contents of the picture. This is our view of our situations. Now pull the picture away from your face and place it on the table or desk in front of you. This is how God views our situations. He can see the whole picture, clearly-even when we can't. |
