In the Fire Dec. 14, 2005 |

Dan. 3:22-23 NKJV 22 Therefore, because the king’s command was urgent, and the furnace exceedingly hot, the flame of the fire killed those men who took up Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego. 23 And these three men, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego, fell down bound into the midst of the burning fiery furnace. Sometimes, situations in our lives get to the point where there seems to be no hope of salvation. Every where we turn, we see evidence of our upcoming doom. As we are being led to the fiery furnace, we begin to wonder, "Is God going to save us?" We get closer and closer to the fire and we can see the flames shooting out toward us. Some men around us become faint from the heat, and others are even killed, but we keep walking. When is God going to come through? Notice in the passage of scripture above that God allowed the Hebrew boys to get all the way in the fire before He saved them. Their hearts had to drop as they were being led toward the furnace but their faith remained unshaken and they did not give up on God. Even when the men holding them were killed by the flames, they still had to get in, so that God would get the glory and honor due to Him. They placed their fates in the hands of a fully-capable God, whom they knew would deliver them. But their faith did not revolve around God doing what they wanted Him to do. It was based on the knowledge that God is God and whatever He decided was what's best. They chose to serve Him no matter what the outcome. We have to obtain that kind of attitude, because God won't always save us right away. Sometimes, He will let things get uncomfortably hot before He steps in. But, we must remember that He is not a man that He should lie and His Word promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. He did not promise to always put the fire out, but He did promise to be with us wherever we are. So when we're in the fire, so is He, and He is able to bring us out without even the smell of smoke on our clothes! Dan. 3:25, 27 NKJV 25 “Look!” he answered, “I see four men loose, walking in the midst of the fire; and they are not hurt, and the form of the fourth is like the Son of God.” 27 And the satraps, administrators, governors, and the king’s counselors gathered together, and they saw these men on whose bodies the fire had no power; the hair of their head was not singed nor were their garments affected, and the smell of fire was not on them. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray
Dan. 3:17-18 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.” Numbers 23:19 God is not a man, that He should lie,Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? Hebrews 13:5 Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” |
