Lock the Door

Today's Topic is Lock the Door

1 Peter 5:8 NKJV  Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a
roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.

John 10:10 NKJV The thief does not come except to steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have
come that they may have life, and that they may have it more abundantly.

We lock our doors to keep the intruders out.  We lock up criminals to protect our communities.  We lock
our safes to protect our valuables from thieves.  Shouldn't we be that protective of our hearts?

We have a very real enemy who is always looking for opportunities to destroy us.  However, most of us
leave the doors of our heart wide open!  We forget that Satan is prowling around hoping for opportunities
to pounce.  We lay down our only weapon against his attacks (the Word of God) and don't pick it up for
weeks.  That is until Satan slips in through the open door and starts causing havoc in our lives.

The devil is skillful in his attack just as a lion is.  He won't let us know that he's coming, but the Holy Spirit
will-if we are spending time with Him.  The Holy Spirit will show us when we have left a door open and will
instruct us on how to lock it before it's too late.

So instead of falling victim to the devil's tactics, why not team up with the One who has already beaten
him.  His name is Jesus Christ, and together, we can keep our eyes open and our doors locked.  We
must be ready in season and out of season, because our enemy, the devil, is real and he takes no
    prisoners.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
