Ecc 3:14 NCV I know that everything God does will continue forever. People cannot add anything to what God has done, and they cannot take anyting away from it. God does it this way to make people respect Him. Recently, while participating in a small bible study group, I heard a person mention how in the Old Testament God appears relentless and fierce, but in the New Testament, God was portrayed as loving and forgiving. Others added that God must have seen that what he was doing in the Old Testament wasn't working, so Jesus was like His plan B. I think that this is a common misconception about God. God doesn't change. When He created us, He knew that we could never live up to His standards on our own, therefore, we needed a Savior. Think about the first day of school. When your teacher walked in and introduced himself, he knew he had to set the standard for the entire semester. If he was soft and let a lot slip, he would never be able to gain control of that class again. This is what God did. In the Old Testament, He had to let us know that He doesn't play when it comes to holiness. He is a Holy God. Period. He had to show us through the Israelites, exactly how He feels about sin. But the good news is that He knew that the only way we can live holy is through Jesus. You see, Jesus wasn't plan B. Jesus was the plan all along. Do you know Him? John 3:16-17 NCV 16 "God loved the world so much that He gave His one and only Son that whoever believes in Him may not be lost, but have eternal life. 17 God did not send His Son into the world to judge the world guilty, but to save the world through him." I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis.
