God's Calling
May 31, 2006

    Today's Topic is God's Calling

1 Sam. 3:10 NKJV  Now the LORD came and stood and called as at other times, “Samuel!
Samuel!”  And Samuel answered, “Speak, for Your servant hears.”

Before we ever knew the Lord, He knew us.  He knew the paths that we would take, the trouble that we
would cause, and the choices that we would make.  He knows everything about us, even our names.

God knows the names of all the stars in the solar system as well as everyone on earth.  He can tell the
difference between identical twins and He can pronounce even the hardest names with ease.  And if
more than one person has the same name, He knows how to call the name in such a way that each
person knows when He is talking to them.

But how do we respond to His calling?  Do we brush Him off like He's just a regular person?  Or do we
answer the way that Samuel did, "Speak for your servant hears."

Amazingly enough, God begins to call our names while we are still enveloped in sin just like He did with
Samuel.  Samuel was very young and did not have a relationship with the Lord at the time of his calling,
but God patiently called his name until he responded.

Today, God is patiently calling our names as well.  He is calling us to come back to Him.  He is calling us
to move up higher in certain areas.  He is calling us to walk in righteousness, and with open arms, He is
    awaiting our answer.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
