Job 23:10-12 (The Message) 10 "But he knows where I am and what I've done. He can cross- examine me all he wants, and I'll pass the test with honors. 11 I've followed him closely, my feet in his footprints, not once swerving from his way. 12 I've obeyed every word he's spoken, and not just obeyed his advice--I've treasured it. Wouldn't it be awesome to be able to sincerely declare our own righteousness as Job does above? To confidently proclaim that our walk with the Lord is without flaw. Unfortunately, this is not the case for most of us (especially me). Our spiritual walk is filled with worry and uncertainties. We start out walking directly behind Jesus but after awhile we realize that we can't see around Him. We begin to move a little to the right to get a better view of where we are headed. When that doesn't work, we move a little more. Eventually, we find ourselves completely on our own path. Jesus wants us to walk completely in His steps. Let Him deal with the things that are ahead. We have to stop trying to go around Him. When we think that we can venture out on our own, we get lost, because He is the Way. We also become deceived because He is the Truth. As we continue walking we realize that we are in total darkness, because He is the Light. Then, we become faint and spiritually die because He is Life. In His steps, we are completely shielded from the things that God has not ordained for our lives. In His steps, we can be comforted by His wisdom and His sovereignty. In His steps, there is peace, mercy, order, contentment, and understanding. In His steps is where I want to be. God Bless, Min. Tommy & Sis.
