Matt. 16:24-25 KJV 24 Then said Jesus unto his disciples, If any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me. 25 For whosoever will save his life shall lose it: and whosoever will lose his life for my sake shall find it. Before we purchase something, we usually look it over and justify the purchase in our minds before we buy it. And over the years, we tend to realize that in most circumstances, the better the material, ingredients, or craftsmanship, the bigger the price tag. So we are more willing to purchase a high- priced item because we believe that the quality is better. Well, the same logic can be applied to life. The reason why the price of living the Christian life is so high is because someone had to die in order to make it affordable or even an attainable goal for us. There is no question that the Christian life has better ingredients than one that is lived without Christ. It produces better results and is well worth the investment. Although, our salvation has already been purchased for us, we are still required to pay a price, and that price is obedience. Salvation gets us into to the store, but obedience purchases the blessings that come along with it. Sometimes, it is difficult to meet our payments at the scheduled time. But in order to justify the reason why we have to pay such a high price, we must remember that we are paying for the best ingredients. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.
