Who is He?
Jul. 19, 2006

Today's Topic is Who Is He?

Matt. 16:15-16 NKJV  15 He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?”
16 Simon Peter answered and said, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.”

Jesus posed this question to all of His disciples because He wanted to prove a point.  He wanted to
prove that not everyone who claims to walk with Him, really knows who He is.  Not everyone who wears a
cross pendant or goes to church on Sunday knows who Jesus truly is.

Why is that?  Because too many of us would rather settle for what other people have told us about God
rather than seeking Him out for ourselves.  His own disciples, for example, were able to come up with
multiple answers when Jesus asked them what other people thought about Him.  But only Peter had
been paying enough attention to the life of Christ to be able to form His own opinion about Him.  And
because of that, Peter was confident in his answer.  It was not hearsay for him, but it was pure
    revelation.

That is the place that Christ wants us to get to.  He wants us to know for ourselves who He is and not just
what people have told us about Him.  And when we finally have that firm, personal revelation of who
Christ is to us, we will also receive the confidence and boldness to stand firm in our beliefs and no one
will ever be able to make us doubt Him again.

So who do you say that I am?  Christ is asking us all today.  Who is He to you?

*If you would like to send in a reply to this question about who Christ is to you, please send it to
admin@wednesdayinsights.com*  We would love to hear from you!

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
