Deut. 30:19 NLT “Today I have given you the choice between life and death, between blessings and curses. Now I call on heaven and earth to witness the choice you make. Oh, that you would choose life, so that you and your descendants might live!" Many restaurants offer what they like to call "combo meals" or "value meals". And with these meals they pride themselves in presenting their customers with several different options. For instance, one of the first things that they will ask is, "Would you like to try a Combo Meal?" Then they'll ask, "Would you like to super-size that?" "Do you want soft or crunchy, original or crispy, with cheese or without?" "What sides would you like?" "What do you want to drink?" "Do you need any sauce?" and the list can go on and on. A person could have a nervous breakdown just trying to decide what to eat! But thank God that we only have to make one decision in order to make it to Heaven. In Deut. 30:19, God says, "I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live." God still presents us with a choice, but the difference is that He tells us the correct answer. In John 14:16, Jesus says, "I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me." In this passage, Jesus is confirming that He is the Life that God was telling us to choose in Deuteronomy. So that makes our choice easy. Life (Jesus, blessings and eternity in Heaven) or Death (Hell, curses and eternal damnation). Even if we choose to ignore making a decision our answer will automatically default to the latter if we wait too late. So which Combo meal will you choose? Please choose life! I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Minister Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray |
