Mark 4:40 NKJV But He said to them, “Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?” It is a comfort to know that what scares us doesn't scare Christ. At times we encounter unexpected storms and it seems like our world falls apart. At the blink of an eye our life can go from smooth to totally stormy. Jesus' disciples know how that feels. They were in a boat going to the other side of the lake when all of a sudden a very strong wind came against the boat causing the waves to come over the sides of the boat filling the boat with water. Where was Jesus? At times we all ask that question. Lord, where are you? But he's the same place where he has always been. Right next to us. The Bible records that Jesus was in the back of the boat sleeping with his head on a cushion. Jesus wanted to show his followers that they don't have to be afraid of the storm when the one who controls the storm is on board with them. Life can be stormy. But our focus is not on the storm, but on the one who controls it. At times it may seem like Jesus is sleeping when there is so much going on in our lives. We must not mistake quietness for stillness. Jesus was awakened by his followers, only for his followers to see that he controls the wind, waves, and the entire universe. It may be stormy in your life right now and it may seem like God is sleeping. Just remember, even when he's quiet he's never still, and even when he's still, he's always moving. I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light. Have a Happy Wednesday! God Bless, Minister Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray |
