Victory Over Fear Pt. 3
Nov. 21, 2007
Today's Topic is Victory Over Fear Pt. 3

2 Tim 1:7 NKJV  For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a
    sound mind.

Last week we learned that God has given us Love to use as a weapon against fear.  This week we will
study how a Sound Mind also overcomes fear.

Fear is mostly psychological; therefore possessing a Sound Mind is key to defeating its hold over us.
Whether our fear is founded or unfounded doesn't seem to matter much when we are face to face with it,
but the truth is that if we stopped for a moment to analyze our fear we would see that our fear is mostly
    imaginary.

What are our fears really based on?  What ifs?  Such as what if our check bounces? What if we become
disabled? What if our children don't look both ways before crossing the street?  What if someone we
    love gets hurt?

Yes, these things can absolutely happen but that is why we have a God whose hands we can put these
things in.  He doesn't want us afraid about stuff like this 24/7.  So what God is telling us is that we can
have a Sound Mind even in the midst of chaos.  So what about the fear of water, or the fear of the dark,
the fear of clowns or spiders?  And even the fear of heights.  These are also psychological and God has
already given us a Sound Mind to conquer them, we just have to make up our minds to do so.

    Why?  Because,
Power + Love + Sound Mind = Victory
                                                          over Fear

So with the combination of Power, Love and a Sound Mind there is no fear that we can't overcome.  And
today we can ask God to help us put these three powers into action so that we can stop living a life
overcome by fear and get on the road to victory once and for all.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Minister Tommy & Sis. Shatika Gray
