Restored by Grace

Luke 15:20 NKJV  And he arose and came to his father. But when he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had
compassion, and ran and fell on his neck and kissed him.

When the prodigal son demanded his portion of his goods from his father, he was blinded by what he thought was a reality.  The
prodigal son was blinded by deception.  He was deceived into thinking that he could go out into the world and make it without his
father.  The father in the parable, who represents God, loves the son so much that he allows him to make his own decisions, even if
it is one that will bring pain upon himself.  And when the younger son hits rock bottom, he decides to come back home, but what
would be the reaction of his father?

We all fall in this Christian life.  We do things we are not suppose to do, look at things we should not look at, go places where we
should not go, and touch people and things we should not touch, and these things often lead us away from our Heavenly Father,
who loves us as much as anyone could ever love us.  But like the father in the parable, God forgives us, restores us, and gets us
back into service for him.  No matter what you've done, no matter how many times you've done it.  You can't get so low, you can't sin
so much, to where God can not pick you up, clean you off, and get you back into service for him.  God is the God of all grace, and he
is waiting to restore you as well, if you let him.

The late Rich Mullins wrote a song called Sometimes by Step, which states "And though this road to righteousness sometimes the
climb can be so steep, I may falter in my steps, but never beyond your reach."  You are never beyond the reach of God's grace.

    Prayer for the Week
Lord, teach me to ride on the wings of your grace, that you may restore me for what you've called me to do.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Minister Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
