meant by "keep My commandments". After all, loving someone doesn't mean that we have to always obey them. Does it? It didn't seem fair to me to tell my friends or family that "if you love me, you will do what I say," but this is what I thought that God was saying to me. However, by doing that, I was taken completely off track. What God is actually saying is, "If you love me, then you will choose to keep my commandments. You will choose to walk away from the things that grieve me. You will choose not to disappoint me. You will choose to walk with me and not away from me.
