Rainbows
Feb. 25, 2009
Gen. 9:16 NKJV The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and
every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

Rom. 8:28 NKJV And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called
    according to His purpose.

There are many analogies that people use to describe life.  For example, 'Life is full of hills and valleys', 'Life is like a railroad track',
'Life is a two-way street'.  Life has even been compared to a box of chocolates, but I prefer to look at life as a rainbow.

The rainbow primarily consists of seven colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo and violet.  These shades align themselves
together and stretch simultaneously across the earth.  The combination of the lighter and darker shades produce a magnificent
display that has kept people in awe for thousands of generations.

Every time we see a rainbow, we presume that there is a beginning, middle and eventually an end. These same presumptions can
be applied to life.  We can have joy in knowing that the lightest and darkest shades of our lives will eventually form a spectacular
sight when God is finished with us.  Meanwhile, be encouraged because where there is a beginning, there will eventually be an end
to the situation that we are in.  And if we currently find ourselves in one of the darker shades of life, we can praise God anyway and
look for the lighter shade running side by side.  We will be sure to find it because there is always something to be grateful for.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Elder Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
