Childlike Faith, Pt. 3: Holding the Master's Hand
Apr. 1, 2009
Prov 3:5-6 NKJV 5 Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding; 6 In all your ways
acknowledge Him, and He shall direct your paths.

My daughter is now learning to walk.  She is so excited about all of her new vantage points and the opportunities that are now open
to her.  She can now explore with ease and very little can get in her way.

However, there is one thing that caught my eye and almost brought me to tears.  The profoundness of this one movement has
caused me to reconsider the way that I make all of my decisions.  When she stood up, she looked up at me and reached for my
hand.  She stood in the same position until her hand was securely in mine, and she would not move until I was by her side.  She
required my presence before making any decision to move forward in her current direction.

Sometimes we get so excited about new opportunities that we forget all about God.  We don't ask Him for His guidance or
accompaniment.  We leave him in our dust, and as a result, we usually fall flat on our faces.  By reaching for my hand, my daughter
included me in her decision.  That is what we must do.  We must include God in all of our decisions.  We should refuse to move
forward in anything until we first look up, and make sure that His hand is securely in ours, and He is walking beside us.  Before
agreeing to anything, we need to be sure that we are holding the Master's hand.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Elder Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
