Dependancy
Jul. 8, 2009
Ps. 42:1 NKJV As the deer pants for the water brooks, so pants my soul for You, O God.

In years past, if I were asked to define the word "dependency", I would have described it as being something that made one weak.  I
viewed dependency as a weakness and a flaw because it meant that one could not operate properly without it.  I was afraid of
becoming reliant upon anything or anyone, because it would mean that things would be out of my control, and I would not be able to
accomplish my goals in my own strength or timing.

But now God has shown me that true dependency is not my weakness; It is my strength if the One I am dependent upon is Him.
Becoming totally dependent upon God requires surrendering our will to Him and allowing Him to take control of every aspect of our
lives.  It requires us to make God so necessary in our lives that we literally cannot function without Him.

So knowing now, what I did not know then, how would I describe dependency?  When our need for something/someone outweighs
our want.  When we finally cross that thin line of just wanting God in our lives and realize how much we actually need and cannot live
without Him.  Praise the Lord for His faithfulness and let's vow to become dependent upon Him, today!

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
