Flee or Fight, Pt. 2
N
ov. 11, 2009
There is a time to Fight and there is a time to Flee.  We need to learn the difference. We are exhorted to fight evil spirits and spiritual
darkness and to Flee temptation.  God doesn't want us to Flee from spiritual warfare. That's backwards. Spiritual warfare is to Flee
from us.  God's instructions were very plain in Eph. 6, that we are to stand against the rulers of the darkness of this age.

Eph. 6:11-13 NKJV 11 Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we do
not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age,
against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. 13 Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be
able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.

1 Timothy 6:12 12 Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, to which you were also called and have confessed the
good confession in the presence of many witnesses.

Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, And between your seed and her Seed; He shall bruise your
head, And you shall bruise His heel.”

Revelations 3:11 11 Behold, I am coming quickly! Hold fast what you have, that no one may take your crown.

Also referenced here are passages of scripture that direct us to fight for the things that rightfully belong to us.  Everything in life won't
come easily. Some things we will have to fight for.  Jesus had the potential to have the easiest life on earth, but instead, he chose to
have the hardest.  Why?  Because, he knew that we would not live easy lives, so Jesus wanted to use his own life as an example to
show us the correct way to fight.  He endured a life filled with ridicule and people trying to kill him, but Jesus fought without weapons
of destruction. Instead, His weapons consisted of the Word of God, prayer, fasting, love and faith.

In conclusion, here's a quick way to identify whether the situation requires us to Fight or to Flee. Fight against the things that
threaten your spirit; Flee the things that threaten your flesh and let the Lord fight your battles.  Matt. 26:41 NKJV Watch and pray, lest
you enter into temptation. The spirit indeed is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
