How To Get To The Heart Of God, Pt. 1
Jul. 15, 2009
1 Sam. 13:14 NKJV 14 But now your kingdom shall not continue. The LORD has sought for Himself a man after His own heart,
and the LORD has commanded him to be commander over His people, because you have not kept what the LORD commanded
    you.”

When Samuel told Saul that God had sought a man that was after his own heart, Samuel was referring to David, who would later be
king.  For all of the reasons that God chose David to be king, and for all of the reasons why God called David, "A man after his own
heart," it was for David's obedience.  Although David's life took a turn in his later years, his obedience to God is one factor that
    gained God's attention.

In this life, there are many obstacles that will entice our hearts and cause us to turn away from God.  However; our response should
be to obey God no matter the cost.  If we think about it for a minute, we can put it in such terms, "Obey God, and it may cost you little
to nothing, or disobey and it could cost you everything."  Obeying God is a prime asset to living a holy life.  Obedience is the key to a
life of power, victory, and a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ.  We are to obey God at all cost, because nothing could cause you
to lose more, or even all, than being disobedient.  God is not moved by our performance, by our talents, or even by our gifts. God is
moved when we promptly obey his commands.  For everything else is but a mere sacrifice, and obedience is always better than
    sacrifice (1 Sam 15:22).

    PRAYER FOR THE WEEK
-Lord, I desire nothing more than to get to your heart. Give me the courage and desire to obey you, no matter the cost.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
