How To Get To The Heart Of God, Pt. 4

ug. 5, 2009
Ps 37:4-5 NKJV 4 Delight yourself also in the LORD, and He shall give you the desires of your heart. 5 Commit your way to the
LORD, trust also in Him, and He shall bring it to pass.

When you make a commitment to someone everything else is second best.  No matter who offers you what, nothing is good
enough to replace the person you are committed to.  For such commitment brings a new level  of intimacy and dedication.  When
you are whole heartily committed to someone with your all, you do not mind sacrificing; for sacrifice is the backbone of commitment.

God  desires that we make a solid commitment to him.  But this commitment that God requires is more than mere words. It is a
commitment of the heart, mind, and soul.  It is a commitment to give up what is not pleasing to him, and to live a life that is not only
committed, but that is sold out to him.

However, commitment to God often times requires having to let go of other relationships and habits.  It may also require eliminating
certain television programs from our schedules.  But if we want God to bless us the way that we want and need, we must first make
a solid decision to commit every single issue that we have in our lives.  When we make a total commitment, meaning not holding
anything back, then we allow God  to take us places and do things for us that we could never imagine.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Elder Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
