Junk Mail
Jun. 3, 2009
1 Cor 10:13 NKJV No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow
you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to
    bear it.

How much junk mail does the average person receive on a daily basis?  If we were to estimate all of the postcards, flyers,
promotional letters and emails that an average person receives, we could easily expect about 20 per day, 140 per week, 600 per
month and an astounding 7,300 per year!  Now what if we printed every junk email and added it to the pile of mailed advertisements
already lying on our coffee table?  Each day this pile would grow larger and eventually would be out of control.  But no one would do
that, right?  Maybe not literally, but many of us handle temptations this way.

We are all tempted in many ways throughout the day whether by food, peer pressure, television, etc.  Some temptations are worse
than others if indulged, however, they all have some measure of damage related to their embrace.  So why do we keep reminders of
those temptations before us on a daily basis?  Why do we allow temptations to build up over time until it is out of control?  Some, we
can do nothing about, such as the ones on billboards or commercials. Others, however, can be as easily avoided by throwing it
away or deleting it the second we come into contact with it or by changing the channel.

Don't allow temptations to junk up your life.  Empty your mailbox daily before the Lord in prayer and He promises you will never have
to face it alone.  God never fails.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Elder Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
