Limitless Pockets, Pt. 2
Jan. 7, 2009
Ps 24:1 KJV The earth is the LORD's, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.

Last month, we discussed how good it is to know that our God has limitless pockets.  That means, his love is without end, his joy is
without measure, his mercy is everlasting and his truth endures to all generations.  His grace will never run out and his resources
can never be depleted nor will his well ever run dry.  So now that we have that established, we are going to ask the question: Is it
wrong to love God because of what he can supply for us, or to think of serving him because of what he can do for us?

The answer is "No".  The things that God supplies for us are only the fulfillment of the promises that he has made to those who love
him.  If someone that we love makes a promise to us, don't we naturally expect them to keep it?  Well, we can look at this the same
way.   God is a giver.  It is a part of his love language, meaning it is the main way that he expresses his love to us.  There is nothing
wrong with loving God for the gifts that he has bestowed upon us.

In the beginning, we may start a relationship with the Lord out of greed or because we are looking at all of the things that he can do
for us.  But the longer we walk with him, the more our feelings will begin to change.  We will find ourselves wanting to love God back
by doing things for him and spending more time talking with him, not asking or wanting for anything.  We will choose to bless others
out of our abundance and we will begin to desire God's presence over his presents.  So, in conclusion, it is not wrong to love God
because he has limitless pockets, but it would be wrong not too.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
