The Presence of the King, Pt. 1
May 20, 2009
Esther 5:2 NKJV So it was, when the king saw Queen Esther standing in the court, that she found favor in his sight, and the king
held out to Esther the golden scepter that was in his hand. Then Esther went near and touched the top of the scepter.

When Esther heard the news that her people were in danger of being destroyed, she not only acted in a godly manner, but she also
had her people  to fast for three days and three nights for preparation of her going before the king.

When Esther went before the king, she went with a plan.  Not a plan that she made up of her own terms, but a plan from God who
gave her the wisdom and the knowledge on how to handle the news about Haman, who wanted to destroy her and her people.
Esther had a plan that would not only save her people,  but would also glorify God.   There were things that Esther had in place
before she approached the king, things that we can afford to take note.

    1.  Esther was prepared before she went to the king.  Because she took the time to prepare,  God gave her favor.  Favor does not
    come to the unprepared.

    2. Uninvited does not mean unprepared.  Esther show up to the king unannounced.  Which could have turn-out to be her last act.
However, with a solid faith in God, and taking godly preparation, Esther was able to get close to the king to get exactly what she
    needed.

    3. Prayer gives us favor.  Esther knew that in her own strength she would fail, so instead of relying on her own wisdom, she trusted
God through fasting, hearing from him in prayer, and getting the favor that she needed.

What did God think of  Esther's boldness and preparation? He made her queen.

    PRAYER OF THE WEEK
-Father, help me to look to you for your plans, and not my own.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
