Peace In The Storm Pt. 1
Feb. 4, 2009
Jer. 29:11-13 NKJV 11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the LORD, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give
you a future and a hope. 12 Then you will call upon Me and go and pray to Me, and I will listen to you. 13 And you will seek Me
and find Me, when you search for Me with all your heart.

Life can be a roller coaster of emotions.  So can the trials of life, which can come at you full speed, or even catch you off guard.  We
often times get worried or restless when the storm hits us simply because we worry and fret about the future.  Isn't that what most of
our worries stem from?  What if this happens, or what if that happens, what if, what if, what if?  Nothing gives us more peace in the
storm than a word from our Lord.  There are countless amount of scriptures that tell us not to worry.  Philippians 4:6-8, Matthew 11:
28, 1 Peter 5:7, all tell us not to worry, but to look to our God.

When God spoke his word to the prophet Jeremiah, he told Jeremiah that the plans he had for him were good plans, and that they
were plans for good and not for evil, to give him a future and a hope.  The same is true for the child of God, regardless of the storm,
we do not have to worry ourselves about the what ifs of life, because we have a God who has given us a future and a hope.  God
gives us hope for the future. We may not know what the future holds, but we can have a peace that surpasses all understanding,
because we know who holds the future.

    PRAYER OF THE WEEK
-Lord, help me to understand that you will keep me in perfect peace, when my mind is stayed on you. (Isaiah 26:3)

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
