Surprise Attack
Apr. 22, 2009
1 Pet 5:8-9 NKJV Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may
devour. 9 Resist him, steadfast in the faith, knowing that the same sufferings are experienced by your brotherhood in the world.

Every attempt that Satan makes is often one of surprise.  Peter refers to Satan as a lion, walking and seeking whom he may devour.
The reason why Peter used a lion as an example is because of how a lion hunts his prey.  Most lions pay attention to prey that may
be weak or vulnerable, or even prey that is not alert.  Once he knows they are distracted, the lion moves in and makes his kill.

We as believers cannot allow ourselves to be ignorant to the attacks of the enemy.  We have an enemy who is real, but with the
power of Christ in our lives, we can do more than live a holy life.  We can resist the enemy causing him to flee.  When we stand firm
in our faith in Jesus Christ, the enemy will flee,  for it is the power of the blood that protects the life of the believer.  Let us put our faith
in Christ, resisting the devil in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!
