Tantrums

    1 Cor. 13:11-12 KJV 11 When I was a child, I spoke as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child; but when I became a
man, I put away childish things. 12 For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall
know just as I also am known.

Today, I would like to share something that I recently witnessed and use it as an analogy that will hopefully bless all of you.  My one
year old loves the outdoors.  She loves watching the birds and picking up different rocks.  She also loves to feel the wind on her
face.  So, just the other day, I decided that I wanted to bless her by taking her to the park.  With our busy schedules that is not
something that we get to do very often but it was a beautiful day and I didn't want to waste it.

Because, I was unsure if the weather would permit us to go without jackets, I stepped outside to test the temperature and of course,
my daughter happily followed.  After we were satisfied with our decision to go without, I preceded to take my little girl back inside to
prepare for our adventure.  She needed socks, shoes, a jacket (just in case), and something to drink.  The moment we crossed
back into the house, my daughter's eyes filled with tears and she began to wail.  Soon, her wailing transformed into a full fledge
tantrum!  My flesh rose up within me and I was very close to cancelling our park excursion but then the Lord spoke.  He told me to
tell her, "Don't miss your blessing because you don't understand what I am doing right now. Just trust me."  After speaking those
words, I was able to calm her down and we enjoyed an exceptional afternoon.

So what is the moral?  Sometimes, when we don't understand what God is doing, we kick, scream and fight against him.  There
may even be times when God withholds things that he would have given us if we were willing and submissive to His will.  That is
what happened to the children of Israel who wandered around in the wilderness for forty years and were never granted the
permission to enter the promised land.  We need to be careful to not allow our ignorance to keep us from our blessings.  We have
to remember that for now, we only see things in part, but God sees the whole picture.  Some blessings require preparation, so just
trust Him.  When he is through preparing us, then we will be able to fully enjoy the things that He has in store for us.

I hope you enjoyed reading the word of God in a new light.  Have a Happy Wednesday!

    God Bless,
Elder Tommy and Sister Shatika Gray
